David Lemmer | ACUR-it Auto Repair


Leesburg, VA, December 11, 2008 – At a technician recognition awards banquet held in San Diego, CA, on November 19, 2008, David Lemmer of Camp Meeker, California, was honored as the ASCCA/ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year. Allen Pennebaker, President of ASCCA; Joe Torchiana, ASE Board of Director’s Chairman; and Timothy Zilke, ASE President, presented the award to Lemmer at ASE’s annual Board of Directors’ Industry Awards Dinner.

David and his wife, Amy, live in Camp Meeker. David’s career as a technician began 32 years ago. He had been working as a shop foreman for many years at Acur-it Imports in Rohnert Park and now serves on their Board of Directors.

Dave is a GMC Master and Oldsmobile Master Technician. He is a member of the adjunct faculty for the automotive technology program at Santa Rosa Junior College. He also does volunteer work for Landmark Education, California State Parks, and Habitat for Humanity.

David has been ASE certified for 20 years and has been an ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician since 1993. He believes that ASE certification validates technicians training and professionalism and demonstrates to the public their commitment to excellence.

Lemmer is one of 37 outstanding ASE-certified technicians nationally recognized by different segments of the automotive service and repair industry. Each of these elite technicians was presented with an industry-specific award recognizing his achievement.

ASCCA is the largest independent garage owners association in California. The core purpose of ASCCA is to elevate and unite automotive professionals and give them voice in a way that promotes integrity, compassion, individuality and continuous self-improvement.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) was founded in 1972 as a non-profit, independent organization dedicated to improving the quality of automotive service and repair through voluntary testing and certification of automotive professionals. More than 400,000 ASE-certified automobile, truck, and collision repair technicians, engine machinists and parts specialists work in dealerships, independent shops, service stations, auto parts stores, fleets, schools, and colleges.
